The online UFO community has been absolutely dragging Luis Elizondo. A former military operator and eventually a leader of AATIP, he has been brought under intense scrutiny by people painting him as a plant — a figure being used to push the government’s whitewashed and distractionary version of disclosure. It’s that version of disclosure that we’re all worried will point us in the wrong direction, at worst being used to eventually falsify an invasion and justifying vast government and military overreach.

But boy, people hate Lue now. They didn’t always, but the vitriol has been intense. The above video from the Vetted YouTube channel is the latest I’ve encountered, via an equally scathing comment section from a post on r/ufo on Reddit.

It all stems from a clap back from Lue towards a guy called UAP Gerb with whom, I’ll be honest, I’m unfamiliar. It’s brutal, and, in my humble opinion, the community is holding Lue to higher standards than they do most public UAP disclosure figures.

Previously, Lue Elizondo has admitted he’s a patriot first, and will always work in the interest of America while respecting his oath to the Constitution as well as the oaths of secrecy he has taken as part of his involvement in the government’s UAP program.

At the same time, he has been clearly pushing for disclosure, and has done a ton to bring this issue to the attention of the public.

I don’t think we’d know all we know without Lue Elizondo. I read Lue’s book, Imminent, and found it illuminating (the theory about how UAPs work is particularly great thought-fodder). Obviously, I can’t vet the whole backstory he provides, but a lot of what he says resonates with aspects of the phenomenon that sure seem to be true, and have been proven since. If you read the book, I recommend digesting it through that lens of discerning eyes and an open mind.

Sure, he’s made mistakes, sometimes very embarrassingly publicly. Take, for instance, the image he held up at a congressional hearing last year — a photo he said was taken by a pilot who thought they were viewing a craft of some sort — that turned out to be two different colored circular crops that did kind of look like a saucer and a shadow. We don’t know the entire backstory, but the image of two center pivot irrigation fields is suspected to have originated from Google Earth. He clearly didn’t vet that, but perhaps saw what he wanted to see.

That’s literally much of what we see from the lay UFO community, at least (especially) on the UFO/UAP subreddits. Often, people see what they want to see, or what they’re told to see. It sucks. It’s stupid, but understandable from a human standpoint, and we should all be looking at anything from this field with a more critical eye, but also with an open mind. Lue failed half of that recipe. Most of us fail both… repeatedly.

Funny enough, this same community was hanging on Lue’s every word a couple of years ago, speculating whether him taking a sip from a mug was some sort of secret coded message to viewers. It’s all exhausting, I’ll admit.

I don’t see a point, though, in demonizing friends of disclosure. Compromised or not, Lue is clearly in that camp. While I don’t expect him to be completely forthright — he’s under NDAs and has publicly and clearly disclosed his national security priorities, cautioning us to view his claims through that lens — he’s no Sean Kirkpatrick.

Just continue to take his information with a grain of salt, like we have to do with anyone. We could pick anyone to dissect and malign. Dr. Steven Greer is super questionable and difficult to take at face value. But his CE5 protocol is legit — can confirm firsthand — and I think Greer believes the things he says, whether the rest of us should believe it or not. That’s no reason to drag the guy through the mud more than anyone else dribbling us information. Put on your thinking caps when you consume this info, and don’t rush to absolutist conclusions about the message… or the messenger. We’re all mere humans, after all.
